My newish job has taken up a lot of my brain space, leaving me woefully ill-placed to remind H to bring a camera and/or take photos with it. However faced with not telling you about an awesome ice-cream shop or telling you about it without photos, I’m going to err on the side of food.
Both offered desserts of Chinese origin rather than the well-known Malaysian culprits of cendol and ais kacang, and we had some interesting and delicious experiences.
If anyone has been reading this blog thoroughly and devotedly, they may have detected my fondness for peanuts.
When I read about the Malaysian treat apam balik I was therefore naturally eager to try it, as it is a thin pancake sprinkled with sugar, sweetcorn and lots of chopped peanuts.
