Naakaa, Blue Collar Corner, Reading

Finding myself in Reading on a Friday lunchtime, I decided to pop to Blue Collar Corner for some food.

Not every stall was open, but my eye landed on Naakaa, which offers delicious sounding chaat, buns, skewers and momo.

I went for the crispy vegetarian “magical momo”, “tossed with chilli garlic crush”. I love a steamed momo, but these were deliciously deep fried, with a mixed veg filling and a moreish chilli coating. When ordering, the kind gentleman stallholder had asked me how hot I wanted them, and I floundered, wondering whose definition of hot I was committing to, but went for “a bit” and it suited me fine.

I seriously contemplated ordering a second plate, but decided to save space for other possibilities.

I’m not sure how long Naakaa will be on rotation at Blue Collar, but they are definitely worth visiting. They also had some delicious-sounding meaty options which I eyed a touch wistfully.
