I was slightly stumped how to title this post as it isn’t a restaurant review, but merely feedback on a single menu item from Popeyes – the original biscuit.

Ever since I realised this chain had arrived in Reading and you could order a buttermilk biscuit as a side, I was buzzing to go. However it took several town visits before I finally managed it.
The biscuit was warm, greasy and about the size of a multipack scone. The crust was hard but the interior was soft and fluffy. It felt wrong to enjoy it as much as I did, given its mass-produced heritage, but it ticked my fatty carb boxes with ease.
