A few nights ago we stopped for dinner at The View, where the food was wonderful and its name proved apt, as it was situated on the sea-front of a peaceful beach.

This beautiful creation known as yum tua pu (wing bean salad) is a Thai salad I had not encountered before.

The thinly-sliced beans are the main constituent, but many other goodies are added such as deep-fried onions, chicken, prawns, peanuts, toasted coconut and some segments of hard-boiled egg that perch a little incongrously on the side. The dressing is fresh and fiery, and each mouthful is a delicious combination of textures and tastes.
